About the Game

The game begins far from any road or track as you choose and customise your car. There are seventeen vehicles to choose from initially, going up dramatically to high double figures with models from three decades, various classes and sixteen manufacturers, once you have included all the add-ons and expansion packs.

Once chosen, you can spend a fair amount of time and effort improving your choice and designing the perfect rally car of your dreams, with up to ten choices of livery per car. Each vehicle handles slightly differently – not enough for play to become frustrating or tricky, but enough that you will have fun picking the perfect driving ‘feel’ for your ideal rally car.

Unlike previous driving games released by the same creators, this game has an entirely new, built from scratch physics engine to provide a realistic and fun, yet moderately challenging drive.

Drive Carefully!

You must try to look after your vehicle in this game because, as tough as rally cars can be, this game has incorporated all the issues and problems that come with real life rallying! This means that your radiator will overheat, exploding dramatically into a cloud of steam if you are not careful to keep an eye on it.

Punctures and blow outs happen on poor roads and with rough driving, leaving you eating your opponent’s dust and regretting that over enthusiastic cornering!

Driving Locations

There are a wide number of authentic rallying locations included in the game, all recreated beautifully and carefully so you can try out your favourite tracks without getting into trouble of any kind:

• Argolis: in the heart of the Peloponnesian peninsula, this Greek track is set against blue skies, bluer seas and gorgeously sunny terrain

• Monte Carlo: the heart of speed racing – the entire city shuts down for the Formula One – it is not surprising that rallying goes on here too

• Powys: a proud ancient kingdom in deep Wales, this area boasts lush green hills, tricky curves and lots and lots of sheep

• Baumholder: Germany is famous for its speed limit free autobahns, so there is no surprise that speed freaks from all over the world hit these streets to try their luck and test their nerve against fellow adrenaline junkies

• Jamsa: Finland’s fjords and snowy plains make for an interesting drive and a lively change from clouds of desert dust kicked up by your passage

• Varmland: Norway’s mountainous and notoriously torturous scenery will keep your adrenaline high and your sweat flowing as you navigate this ancient land, glimpses of outstanding views threatening to distract your attention from the road

Later, following an agreement with FIA World Rallycross Championship bigwigs, three more courses were added to the game

These were: namely Holjesbanan a Swedish racing circuit, near the border with Norway and situated in an almost rural locale so you can speed away without worrying about the populace; Lankebanen in Norway, which is near Hell and that is all you need to know about that; and the Lydden Hill Race Circuit from the south of England, near Kent.
